Karine est photographe documentaire. Elle est venue à l'expression visuelle après une carrière de 15 ans en droit pénal en tant qu'Avocat de la défense à Paris. Elle a quitté ce métier en 2018 lorsqu'elle a déménagé en Asie, changeant de médium mais racontant toujours des histoires qui comptent.
Travailler sur des documentaires à long terme est un moyen de plaider à nouveau, non pas avec des mots, mais avec des images, en se concentrant sur des personnes qui ne trouvent pas nécessairement leur place dans notre société et en leur rendant justice. Elle s'intéresse particulièrement à ceux dont les voix ne sont pas entendues et construit une identité visuelle autour des valeurs de défense qui la motivent
Elle est titulaire d’un Master en documentaire créatif et en photojournalisme avec Magnum Agency & Paris Photographic Institute (Spéos), et a obtenu le premier prix du jury en Photoreportage. Avec son travail sur un terroriste repenti, elle a été nominée au Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2022 et a gagné le Grand Prix Paris Match 2023.
En 2024, en tant que photographe et contrôleur, elle a été recrutée par le Contrôleur général des lieux de privation de liberté (CGLPL), dont le rôle est de veiller à ce que les personnes enfermées soient traitées avec l’humanité et la dignité inhérentes à la personne humaine.
Ses photographies ont été publiées notamment dans Le Monde, Le Nouvel Obs, Le Huffington Post, La Vie ou Paris Match.
Elle est également auditeur libre à l’Ecole du Louvre en Histoire de l’Art.

Karine is a documentary photographer. She came to visual expression after a 15-year career in criminal law as a defence lawyer in Paris. She left that profession in 2018 when she moved to Asia, changing mediums but still telling stories that matter.
She is also an auditor at the École du Louvre in Art History.
Based in Paris.
Working on long-term documentaries is a way to advocate again, not with words, but with images, focusing on people who do not necessarily find their place in our society and doing them justice. She is particularly interested in those whose voices are not heard and builds a visual identity around the values of advocacy that motivate her.
She holds a Master's degree in Creative Documentary and Photojournalism from Magnum Agency & Paris Photographic Institute (Spéos), and won first prize from the jury in Photojournalism. With her work on a repentant terrorist, she was nominated for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2022 and won the Grand Prix Paris Match 2023.
In 2024, as a photographer and inspector, she was recruited by the Controller-General of Places of Deprivation of Liberty (CGLPL), whose role is to ensure that prisoners are treated with the humanity and dignity inherent to human beings.
Her photographs have been published in Le Monde, Le Nouvel Obs, Le Huffington Post, La Vie and Paris Match, among others.
